What are the SHLA's?
Our awards night puts a spotlight on the incredible contributions that operational staff make to the purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) sector and recognises the top talent across this vibrant industry.
We are delighted to announce a mix of old and new categories for this year:
The rigour of our judging process makes the SHLA well worth entering and winning. We have industry leaders from customer service led alternative investment real estate who kindly form our judging panel.
What does the SHLA mean for contestants?
Emma, 2017/18 Accommodation Manager of the Year said, “It was lovely to have my hard work appreciated! I was shocked that I had been put forward by my Director, and despite being a little embarrassed I was thrilled.” Emma never thought she would win the award, especially with what she describes as strong competition with big players in the PBSA sector. Her award is now pride of place on her mantelpiece.
Laura, 2016/17 Sales Pitch of the Year said, “it was great to win on behalf of my employer, it was a great sense of achievement.” Laura loved winning an industry award, which spoke even more than an internal one. She said “the SHLA’s give an opportunity for individuals and teams to receive an award, not just the business as a whole.”
How to get involved?
We will be launching the application process on 30 October, with the deadline set for 30 November. Applications are free of charge.
The third annual SHLA’s will be taking place in January 2019 in London, tickets are just £15. We will be recognising achievements from the September 2017 – September 2018 academic year and encourage nominations from all PBSA providers and Universities.
