General Manager (Barking) - BTR

As General Manager you will manage the overall experience for everyone connected to Apo_Barking, whether this be our members, team or the wider community. You’ll be responsible for leading our onsite team to deliver Apo's core values to delight and exceed customer and community expectations.

Just as importantly, you will take full ownership of the P&L, set the tone for the development and ensure that all services are delivered in line with the agreed business plan, regulations, brand guidelines and investor expectations.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

Customer Centric

  • Be responsible for the reputation of the development and seek to exceed resident expectations
  • Listen to and take on board resident feedback to deliver an excellent experience
  • Ensure that all requests for assistance are processed and resolved in timely manner •      Constantly evolve and improve performance

Community Engagement

  • Oversee a comprehensive program of events to engage with residents and the wider local community
  • Maintain positive and effective communication channels with members and wider community
  • Oversee, monitor and moderate social media accounts for the development

People Management

  • Lead, manage, motivate and support the onsite team and provide regular training and support
  • Review performance, provide appropriate feedback and monitor accordingly
  • Build effective relationships with residents, contractors and the wider community

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with the Apo central team to prepare the Annual Business Plan for the development
  • Ensure delegated budgets and targets are managed and met
  • Add value wherever possible through increased revenue, cost control and improved resident experience

Membership

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the local market and key competitors
  • Build a strong sense of local community where residents feel valued and a part of something special and effectively manage the resident amenities
  • Ensure that all customer enquiries are handled and resolved quickly and efficiently

Operations

  • Actively manage delivery of the annual agreed business plan, taking ownership of agreed Key Performance Indicators and ensuring these are met or exceeded.
  • Co-ordinating lettings, approving applications and ensuring the letting and move-in process is seamless and efficient
  • Ensure that the property is always in good condition and that any defects and required maintenance are undertaken promptly and to a high standard

Health and Safety

  • Actively liaise with Apo's Facilities Manager to ensure that the development complies with all relevant legislation and best practice
  • Oversee security and safety on-site to ensure that residents feel safe and that fire and other risk assessments are undertaken and actioned
  • Ensure that building emergency procedures are up-to-date and followed at all times
